A Needed Change

A change was made inside this heart of mine -

It's one I swore would never come to be.

I always did my best to cross a line -

so many envelopes were pushed by me.

So much to say and do upon a dare.

All boundaries were tests of my own will.

I wondered why so many left me square -

such expectations I could not fulfill.

I've changed my ways, how peacefully I live.

I've learned some self-control and discipline.

I took so much, so now it's time to give.

When people see me now they smile and grin.

I realize the truth today and sigh -

there's more to life than me, myself and I.
