Claiming that a program on AXN outraged the sensibilities of Indian viewers, the government went ahead and banned the channel.
And now it is planning to axe more channels that are showing 'adult' programmes.. But the government understand the tastes of the audience or what is acceptable to them? With TV being a 'viewers' medium , Is there a need for a censorship and state intervention here? And If Yes , with whom should this authority rest?
Some of the Opinions of TV viewers by one of the News Paper includes
1 No, its a matter of choice
2 Last Night TV should be for adults
3 People are mature enough and can make their own choices
4 A ban is not the solution, instead there should be deadline.
5 If Censorship is must , appoint experts
6 Yes, the ban is justified
If you or any of your family member is a TV viewer... Which option ull go for..
