Hey guys
I have been experiencign this really strange problem. Whenever I remove the power plug from my laptop while it is running, the screen becomes almost like invisible. U can't even see the whitest parts of the screen. It becomes so dark ( almost black) . The programs are still running, bt the visibility is terribly reduced.
I have to restart it get the thing running in a normal state. Now, the problem is occuring more frequently without any cause even if the power plug remains connected.
Any suggestions why this is happening? and what do i do to resolve this??
Any help welcomed. Thanks a lot in advance.

hey there's an Fn (function) key on ur keybord...use it in combination wid some other key (marked screen+up) to increase the brightness and contrast. also when the laptop boots just get into the bios and see the preset for screen visibilty when on battries.

thanks ANi! But that isn't what happens. The screen is 100 times dimmer than the lowest option of the brightness/contrast. It is impossible to see anything on the screen...

hey loyalgurl..
i still think u shud try it out..increase the brightness to the maximum..im sure it'll help a gr8 deal..cuz i had the same prob with my laptop..
but incase this is not a brightness issue..then maybe there is a prob with ur screen..if ur laptop is still under warranty..have it chked..its the safest way out..
cheers!!

yep take it to service center asap.....but if the screen is bright on ac an so dim on battery it shouldn't be a problem wid the screen...i think the part which handles the acpi system of the laptop has gone kaput...but i strongly think that its rom/softwar problem.
just check the site of the manufacturer if there are any bios updates posted...or any issues like these are discussed there. how old is the battery? and how many charge cycles has it completed? wots the wear level? use this software to find out:
